A number of veteran athletes from Galway competed strongly in the Irish Masters Track and Field in Tullamore - Pat Finn from Aughrim winning bronze in the javelin and Mary Barrett (Loughrea AC) winning a haul of 4 gold (high jump 1.30, long jump 3.91, shot putt 9.21, discus 28.93 PB) and 1 silver (javelin 23.21).

Two young Galway athletes made their international debut at the weekend in the Celtic Games International in Waterford, with Cathriona Farrell (Craughwell AC) representing Ireland in high jump and Eanna O'Cathai (GCH) in discus. |
