Results of Galway Primary Schools Cross Country
Wednesday, 30 September 2009

Well done to everyone who participated yesterday in the Galway Primary Schools Cross Country. Whether you came near the front or the rear of the field, everyone put in a tremendous effort and can be proud of themselves for competing and completing what is probably the toughest race now on the Galway juvenile cross country calendar.

Over 850 children from 46 primary schools across Galway took part in the 4 races, with some great battles taking place right through each race.

Full results of the 4 races are available at:-

http://www.galwayathletics.com/dmdocuments/GalwayPrimarySchoolsCrossCountryResults2009.pdf

The qualifiers for the Connacht finals are highlighted in red in the results - the top three individuals, top three teams and next nine athletes not on these teams. Medals will be posted to the schools for anyone who qualified and didn't receive their medal on the day.

Thank you to all who helped out on the day - there was alot of work involved and without plenty of able assistance, this event could not happen.

The Connacht finals are on Saturday 24th October at 1pm in Calry, Sligo. Galway AAI will automatically enter today’s medallists in the Connacht finals – if a qualifier is not available, please let me know by Thursday next week (087 6591879 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ).

If you are interested in joining an athletic club to get more cross country races, contact them quickly as the first race of the club season is on next Sunday in Tuam. A list of athletic clubs is available on this website. Email or phone me if you have any difficulty in making contact with your nearest one.
